Bomb blast in Manipur, India

A bomb blast in Ukhrul district of Manipur on early Friday morning killed one Assam Rifles jawan as militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). 

The IED was planted at 27 Assam Rifles security check post at Ramva under Shangshak Police Station and exploded at 7.20 am. Security forces has cordoned off the area and no civilians are allowed to enter the area.

According to a PTI report, this blast is the second such attack on the paramilitary force in Manipur this month. Earlier on June 15, an Assam Rifles personnel was killed and three others were injured after militants had triggered an IED blast in the same district.
