HUB: Pakistan People's Party Co Chairman Asif Ali Zardari took his old friend Nawaz Sharif to task over the national policies.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday said that failure to consult international powers to address the nation’s issue is the weakness of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government.

Speaking to media after offering condolences to Balochistan parliamentarian Abdul QuddusBizenjo, the former president said that Sharif holds a narrow view of world politics, probably due to patriotic tendencies.

“It is a forgone truth that India is involved in Afghanistan, or else we would not face such a large insurgency,” he said, adding that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif should consult and involve world powers in such issues.

He said that the government’s failure to address issues of terrorism and other conflicts can be gauged from the fact that it has not appointed a foreign minister since the last four years.

Zardarisaid that the situation of Balochistan has not improved and has remained similar as during it was during his reign.

“The wounds of Balochistan are still fresh,” he said calling on the need for joint efforts between the federal government and the people to address the persisting problems of the province.

Taking credit for the Balochistan package and initiating the CPEC project, which he said was more focused on Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but was now focused on providing profits only to Punjab.
