Asian Cadet Championship: Pakistan Wrestling Squad announced 

PESHAWAR: (APP) Pakistan Wrestling Federation Monday announced a three member squad for the forthcoming Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship to be played at Beijing, China from July 6-10, 2016.

The announcement in this connection was made after a month long camp here at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Center Peshawar under the supervision of Pakistan Sports Board and with the collaboration of Pakistan Wrestling Federation and KP Wrestling Association.

Talking to APP, Secretary KP Wrestling Association Abdul Qayyum Shinwari said that the players went under rigorous training with coaches Niamat Ullah and Zahid Ullah worked hard with the team.

He said initially there were 20 players from all across the country and among them only two players were selected to represent Pakistan in the forthcoming Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship in China this year.

Abdul Qayyum Shinwari, who is also announced as coach of the China bound team, expressed the hope that the team comprising Inayat Ullah (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Ghulam Raza Ghos (Punjab) would give good result in the Championship.

He also lauded the efforts of Director General PSB Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, President Pakistan Wrestling Federation Ch. Asghar and Secretary General Arshad Sattar for taking keen interest in provision of best available facilities to the players during the month long camp.

He said a total of 25 players, 15 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 10 from Punjab are currently under training with coach Niamat Ullah International and Zahid International imparting training to them.

He said our wrestlers have earlier shown better result in the international event like beach wrestling championship where Pakistan stood No. 1 position in Asia and hopefully the players would win gold medal in Cadet Championship in China.

He said promising players from Punjab comprising Ghulam Ghos, Muhammad, Umair Hussain, Intizar Hussain, Hassan Mehmood, Falak Sher, Iftikahr,Haseeb and Muhammad Yar, Amir Hamza, Inayat Ullah, Zar Khan and Asif Hussain from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are in great form.

He said out of the camp besides short-listing two wrestlers for the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship in Beijing, China, a team would also be announced shortly by the Pakistan Wrestling Federation for the forthcoming International Wrestling Championship in Moscow, Russia.

When asked to comment, Ghulam Raza Ghos and Inayat Ullah expressed satisfaction over the training by two coaches Niamat Ullah and Zahid with head coach Muhammad Qayyum Shinwari. They said that they have six hours dialing training and coaching in the camp besides good facilities have been provided to them like good diet and tough training.

We are fully capable of winning positions in the forthcoming Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship,” they added. They disclosed that currently both at no. 1 ranking in their respective weight categories at national levels and hopefully would give good result for Pakistan. The two wrestlers said that they would win back gold medal in their respective weight categories by giving a Eid gift to the whole nation.

There would be tough challenges from the players from other countries of the world but they would try their best to give good result,” they said. It is for the first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that a national wrestling camp is setup by Pakistan Sports Board with the collaboration of Pakistan Wrestling Federation and KP Wrestling Association.
