Anti-India joint protest march held in Srinagar

ISLAMABAD: (APP) A peaceful anti-India protest march was held from the historic Jamia Masjid to Nowhatta Chowk in Srinagar.
According to KMS, call for the protest was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Holding banners and placards, the protestors raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers on the occasion said that the Kashmir dispute was a historic reality and the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir could not be challenged.
They said that the resistance leadership and freedom-loving people of Kashmir were determined to carry forward their freedom movement till they achieved their right to self-determination.
The Hurriyet leaders said that the black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) provided the Indian forces a license to kill and get away with impunity.
The leaders said that peace in entire South Asia could only be ensured by repealing draconian laws, withdrawing Indian forces from Jammu and Kashmir, and by resolving the Kashmir dispute by giving the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.
They also condemned night raids, harassment and beating up of residents and ransacking of their houses in various districts of the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Pulwama district.
Hurriyet leaders and activists who attended the protest included Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Syed Imtiyaz Haider, Ramiz Raja, Mustafa Sultan, Ghazi Javed, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Muhammad Nagoo, Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad, Abdul Rasheed Untoo, Ghulam Nabi Najar, Abdul Majeed Wani, Jaffar Kashmiri, Muhammad Shafi Khan, Advocate Sheikh Yasir, Farooq Ahmad Saudagar, Lateef Ahmad Malik, Latif Ahmad Shoora, Ali Muhammad Rathar, Haji Qadoos, Syed Muhammad Shafiq Shah and Sahil Ahmad.
