Afghanistan President telephones Pakistan PM Khaqan Abbasi

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that terrorism is a common threat to Pakistan and Afghanistan and both countries should work together for security and stability in the region.

He made these remarks during the telephonic conversation with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday.

Ashraf Ghani telephoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to congratulate him on assuming the office of Prime Minister.

The Afghan President expressed satisfaction over the smooth transition and said that it was good for democracy in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Abbasi thanked President Ghani and said that Pakistan will work together with Afghanistan to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the region.

Both leaders resolved to work together to address the challenge of energy in the region and improve the economic conditions in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
