LAHORE: The meeting of the All Pakistan Private Schools Federation and Pakistan Education Council was held here at Sunday. The meeting decided to shut down all schools in Punjab on March 8 and 9 over the issue of increase in school fee.

As per details, after the meeting, a joint declaration issued by the both federation and Council announced to close all the private schools across

 Punjab on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Private school owners said that they will not accept the increase of school fee by only 5% while they demanded government to allow them for 10% increase in schools fee.

Private schools owners added that private schools are providing quality education to the children and contributing in nation building but Punjab government is impacting our facilities and services through draconian laws for private schools.

APPSF and PEC spokespersons added, “Most private schools have been unable to revise teachers’ and staff salaries in the 2015-16 school year, leading to unhappy and de-motivated teachers, a factor that in itself spells disaster for quality teaching.”
