Islamabad Police recovers Cache of weapons from capital

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Islamabad Loi Ber police on Sunday conducted search operation in its respective jurisdiction and recovered huge cache of weapons from suspects, a police spokesman said.

Following National Action Plan, officers/officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Loi Bher police station including Soan Gardens, PWD, Hiran Mir and others. Under the supervision of SP (Rural) Syed Mustafa Tanveer, DSP Malik Naeem and SHO Loi Bher police joined this search operation while police commandos, lady commandos and staff of Bomb Disposal squad also participated in it.

They checked 150 houses and nabbed five suspects including one afghan national besides recovering huge cache of weapons from them. Further investigation was underway.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani said the purpose of this search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city directing all the SHOs concerned to continue it.

He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
