Turkey now lock horns with Germany

ISTANBUL: (APP) Top Turkish and German diplomats agreed Friday to meet next week as their nations row over the cancellation of rallies in Germany for an upcoming vote in Turkey.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his German counterpart, Sigmar Gabriel, agreed during a phone conversation to meet on Wednesday, according to a high-level Turkish official.

State-run Anadolu news agency reported the meeting would take place in Germany. Tensions are high over rallies for a referendum on whether to expand President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's powers.
