Supreme Court announces Panama Papers case closing date

ISLAMABAD: Heading a five-judge bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said the hearing of landmark Panamgate scandal case will hopefully be complete on Thursday.

He said the Panama case is headed to its completion and directed the Attorney General to finish his arguments by 11am tomorrow.

Justice Khosa also said the bench will hear Naeem Bukhari’s response to the reply pleaded by the Sharif family.

Supreme Court of Pakistan Tuesday resumed hearing of Panamagate scandal case as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children filed a new petition against the additional documents filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The PM’s petition pleaded with the court not to allow the PTI’s additional documents to become a part to the record, and requested the court to grant 8-week’s time in case it intends to take them up.

The petition states, “The documents were submitted after our lawyers completed their arguments. Hence, they will have no time to submit their response to these documents.”
