Policeman gunned down by unknown assailants

KARACHI: (APP) A policeman was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Nishtar Road on Tuesday night, police said.
According to police, the incident happened in the jurisdiction of Soldier Bazaar Police Station.
The deceased constable, Khalid Shaikh (30), son of Shakir, was posted at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Garden.
The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
A Sindh Police spokesman, in a statement, said that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh A.D. Khawaja had sought a detailed report into the incident from the relevant DIG.
He said that the IGP had also directed the SSP East to ensure the forensic examination of any evidence collected from the crime scene, and also ensure the arrest of culprits as soon as possible.
