Full court reference held at LHC     

LAHORE: (APP) A full court reference was held at the Lahore High Court to commend services of the late judges and lawyers on Wednesday.

LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah chaired the reference whereas all judges working at the LHC principal seat participated in it.

Chaudhry, former justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad, former justice KM Samdani, former justice Mian Nisar Ahmad, former justice Abdul Ghafoor Khan Lodhi, former Justice Muhammad Hassan Sindher, former justice Gul Zari kiyani, former justice Asif Jan, former justice Mian Ghulam Ahmad, former justice Abdul Hameed Tiwana, former justice Ameer Alam Khan, former justice Sheikh Abdul Manaan, former justice Muhammad Ghani, former justice Sheikh Amjad Ali, former justice Arshad Mehmood Tabbasum, former justice Sheikh Abdul Razzaq, Muhammad Ilyas Khan advocate, Khawaja Sultan Ahmad advocate, Hakim Qureshi advocate, Khawaja Saeed-uz-Zafar advocate. Iqbal Kalanori advocate, Masood Advocate, Sardar Muhammad Ishaq Khan advocate and Ijaz Batalvi advocate were remembered in the reference.

Addressing the reference, the LHC chief justice said the sesquicentennial celebrations of the LHC could not be completed without commending services of the late judges and lawyers.

He also remembered the Shaheed lawyers of Quetta carnage. The chief justice said he along with senior LHC judges visited Quetta after the incident. He stated that a fund was formed at the LHC and district judiciary for the victims of the carnage and Rs 8 million were collected.

Muhammad Hussain, Chairman Executive Committee Punjab Bar Council Mumtaz Mustafa, Advocate General Punjab Shakeel ur Rehman Khan,  Deputy Attorney General Imran Aziz Khan and Deputy Prosecutor General Punjab Khurram Khan read references in the memory of late judges and lawyers.
