Pakistan National Tariff Commission formally activated

ISLAMABAD: A broad based National Tariff Commission (NTC) has formally been activated to defend Pakistan at World Trade Organizations and to resolve issues being faced by the country in respect of import and export.
This was stated by Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday.

The Minister said the Commission will play a significant role in promoting investment in the country besides resolving problems being faced by the importers.

He said having diverse representation and experienced members, National Tariff Commission will work with renewed vigour and energy.
Khurram Dastgir said all required resources and laws have been provided to the Commission and hopefully it will also assist the government while formulating economic policies.
He said NTC will primarily take action over anti-dumping duty cases and will also enjoy suo-moto power to secure interest of the country in the world.
