Pak-China to strengthen cooperation in defence and Counter Terrorism   

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan and China Wednesday agreed to further strengthen cooperation in all areas for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

It was reiterated during a meeting of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, held in China.

Both sides held detailed discussions on the entire range of bilateral relations between Pakistan and China which included China Pakistan Economic Cooperation (CPEC), economic cooperation, defence, counter-terrorism, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), culture, education and people to people contacts.

Fatemi and Wang Yi also exchanged views on regional and global issues including Kashmir, Afghanistan and South China Sea, said a press release.

The Special Assistant briefed the Chinese Foreign Minister about the grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).

Cooperation in multilateral forums including the UN was also discussed.

The Pakistan side also apprised China about Pakistan's strong credentials for its membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
