Indian Army Sikh soldier commits suicide after refusing to fight against Pakistan 

NEW DEHLI: Suicides in Indian Army are not a new phenomenon as hundreds of Indian Army soldiers have committed suicides in last few years alone.

However the reason behind such suicides have been mainly the stress factor or the internal quarrels.

In a recent and unique development a Sikh soldier in the Indian army committed suicide over the idea of fighting against the land of Baba Guru Nank, Pakistan.

According to Indian media, the Sikh soldier ended his life as he did not want to be part of India’s war against Pakistan.

The soldier was of the view that he cannot play his role in the combat against Pakistan which is the land of Baba Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh religion.

Indian Army has been facing the cases of suicides and indiscipline since long which has raised questions about the professionalism of the World's second largest Army.
