PESHAWAR - The United States Agency for International Development in partnership with the FATA Secretariat inaugurated the FATA Economic Revitalization Program at an event in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Representatives from USAID and the United Nations Development Programme UNDP signed the Rs. 1.6 billion award for building sustainable livelihoods in South Waziristan, North Waziristan and Khyber Agency affected by insecurity and displacement.
Speaking at the ceremony, USAID’s Assistant to the Administrator, Office of Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs, Gregory F. Huger said, FATA Economic Revitalization Program will help improve quality of life for residents of FATA.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said FATA economic rehabilitation programme will prove to be a milestone in the socio-economic development of tribal people.
