The petition was filed by Fayyaz Mehr Advocate, a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Lawyers Forum, submitting that the SC announced the verdict in 2012 and ordered the FIA to hold an inquiry into distribution of Rs 140 million among politicians during the 1990 elections.

The court also ordered proceedings against politicians found involved in the scandal, he said. However, he added, no action had been taken so far.

The petitioner said that the federal government and the FIA were acting as silent spectators, and prayed to the court to order the federal government to implement the judgment and bring the responsible to justice.
