Grabbing Provinces power will endanger Federation : Chairman Senate

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani said that center-centric mindest is rooted in all political parties and it was the main hurdle in the implementation of 18th constitutional amendment in true meaning.

While addressing a seminar titled policy dialogue future of fiscal federalism in Pakistan here at today in Islamabad, he said that people in Pakistan are still facing haunts of British colonialism.

The seminar was organized by Rural Development Policy Institute and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology.

Talking about the empowerment of Senate, he made it clear that Senate should be granted monetary powers for strengthening democracy in true spirit because it is necessary for a strong federation.

Highlighting the role of youth, Raza Rabbani emphasized upon the need of active role of civil society and youth for country progress and prosperity.

Provinces should be given their all rights by federation and their powers should not be grabbed by federation because it might be put federation in serious dangers.

Talking about NFC Award, he demanded census in order to ensure correct and right allocation of resources among all provinces.
