ISLAMABAD – Coronavirus pandemic has been rapidly spreading around the world hitting the tally up to 806,080 cases overall till the date (31 March 2020 at 08:00 PM). In Pakistan, the patient count has been increasing speedily while making it difficult for the Government of Pakistan to cope up with the situation effectively.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan initially addressed the nation with the emphasis on the idea of no need of declaring lockdown but later on, the provincial governments announced 14-day closure following the worsening situation due to the spread of the virus.

As of now, the Government of Pakistan is taking serious precautionary measures along with the pivotal arrangements in the hospitals as well as for quarantine for the patients during their treatment.

In a recent press talk, PM Imran Khan also declared to form “Corona Relief Tigers Force” consisting of the youth from all over the country who want to voluntarily serve for the cause in this critical time.

The Tiger Force members will be delivering food to the needy people at the doorstep and will be engaged in other relief activities for better management and to assist government operations. The registration of the volunteers has started from today, 31st of March, 2020 via Citizen Portal.

Additionally, the PM has also announced the establishment of “Corona Relief Fund” to financially support deprived people. As far as the condition of medical staff in different hospitals is concerned, the doctors are completely stressed out and troubled to treat the patients as they don’t have proper protection kits. They have been pleading to the Government for the delivery of protective gear at the earliest to ensure the safety of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.

China has sent tonnes of protective gear along with the testing kits and other items to Pakistan on 27th March 2020 for assistance.
