SRINAGAR - Occupied Kashmir former puppet chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has warned that they themselves will decide their future if the Indian government revoked Article 370.
Criticizing the statement of Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Mehbooba Mufti said that the relationship between India and the Occupied Valley would be over if Article 370 of the Constitution scrapped. business Secret Offers Expire Soon! Click Here Now To Find!
“Jaitley must understand this. It is not an easy thing to say. If you scrap (Article) 370, your relation with the Occupied Valley will be over,” said Mehbooba.
On Thursday, Jaitley had advocated the repeal of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, saying Article 35A, which restricts non-permanent residents to buy property in Occupied Valley, is constitutionally vulnerable and also hampering economic development.
The former puppet CM said that Article 370 was a bridge between India and the Occupied Valley and if the special provision of the Constitution was revoked, then New Delhi would have to renegotiate its relationship with Occupied Valley.
“Because if you have given us a special status in the Constitution of India and you break that status, then we will have to rethink whether we would even want to stay with you without conditions,” she said.
