Pakistan Railways commence biggest freight operation of its history

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Railways (PR) is all set to commence its biggest freight operation from today for the first time in the history the country.
A spokesman of Pakistan Railways Talking to Radio Pakistan informed that Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would receive the first coal laden freight train at Sahiwal Coal power plant on Tuesday.
He further said by this project, the annual income of PR would increase by two percent.
A Chinese company has submitted a rent of Rs.1 billion of one month in this regard, he added.
Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Javed Anwar said that twenty-five engines of four thousand -horsepower will be used for the freight service.
