FIA launches massive countrywide crackdown

The Federal Investigation Agency has launched massive crackdown against individuals involved in hawala transactions across the country.

According to reports, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested over a hundred individuals during a crackdown against hawala in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the course of the last six weeks.

FIA authorities stated that the suspects were involved in hawala and illegal currency exchange, and substantial amounts of local and foreign currency were seized from those involved in hawala transactions, exceeding 170 million rupees during the raids.

FIA conducted operations in various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Kohat, and along the Torkham border. 85 cases have been registered in Peshawar, and further investigations are ongoing.
