Pakistan to soon have electric cars and electric Rickshaws

ISLAMABAD - Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam says an integrated policy on electric vehicles is being prepared on fast track basis and will be submitted to cabinet for approval soon.
He was talking to a delegation of a private rickshaw company in Islamabad today (Thursday).
Amin Aslam said the trend of electric vehicles is gaining traction worldwide due to awareness on environmental pollution.
The delegation apprised the advisor that their company in cooperation with a Chinese firm is interested in import and production of one hundred thousand electric rickshaws annually.
This vehicle will have an operational cost of one third to the traditional rickshaw.
