A group of Afghan politicians led by former President Hamid Karzai and a 14-member Taliban team led by the co-founder of the group Abdul Ghani Baradar held a meeting in Moscow to discuss the Afghan peace.
Sources said the meeting was focused on peace and pressuring the Taliban to agree on a ceasefire with the Afghan government on the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
The Taliban rejected the calls for a ceasefire in the presence of foreign forces in Afghanistan.
