New Delhi can be hit in five minutes by Pakistan: Dr. AQ Khan

ISLAMABAD: It has been claimed by Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan that Indian Capital New Delhi can be hit by Pakistan in just five minutes because Pakistan is nuclear power and has ability to do so.
While addressing a ceremony in connection with Youm-e-Takbir, Pakistan nuclear programme founder Dr. AQ Khan said that “Pakistan has the ability to target New Delhi from Kahuta near Rawalpindi in five minutes”
AQ Khan further added that he and his team had completed work on the nuclear programme in 1984 and Pakistan could have become nuclear power in this year but he had been opposed by President Ziaul Haq.
“We were able and we had a plan to launch nuclear test in 1984. But President General Ziaul Haq had opposed the move,” Khan said.
Khan stated that General Ziaul Haq used to say that Pakistan would have to face world intervention and as well as economic crisis because of stoppage of aid that Pakistan was receiving in the name of Soviet war in Afghanistan.
