India surrenders before PCB demands for upcoming T20 World Cup

According to sources, the Indian government is ready to grant visas to the Pakistan team, officials, journalists, and fans for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will provide written assurance to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the matter. ------------------------------

Earlier, PCB had made it clear multiple times that they want written assurances that the Pakistani contingent will be allowed to travel to the country and even approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) to resolve the issue between the two boards. It looks like the BCCI has succumbed to the pressure of PCB’s persistence and is set to honor the request.

According to reports, BCCI has received a guarantee and permission from the Indian government to provide security and grant visas to the people coming from Pakistan for the mega event. The relationship between the two neighboring countries has been heading in a positive direction lately, and as a result, the Indian government has decided to ease its stance on the issue of granting visas. ------------------------------

BCCI officials are set to announce the latest development in the upcoming two-day meeting of the ICC board, scheduled to be held on 31 March and 1 April. BCCI is expected to make an official announcement during the meeting. PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, will also be present in the virtual meeting.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played in India in October-November, with 16 international teams taking part in the tournament.
