Headcoach Misbah ul Huq breaks silence over the team performance in upcoming series

Head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq is confident that the Pakistan cricket team will put on a good showing in the upcoming limited-overs series against South Africa. Misbah believes that the pitches at the two venues, Johannesburg and Centurion, will suit Pakistan and the team looks to be in good shape ahead of the series. ------------------------------

Misbah said that historically Pakistan have performed well at the two venues and they will look to replicate those performances in the upcoming series.

“If I look back, when we used to come here and play, these two wickets, Centurion and Wanderers, we always enjoyed these pitches. The bounce and pace is very true and as a batsman you enjoy that, you get full value for your shots. Some of the players in this team have already played here and performed very well,” Misbah said. ------------------------------

He praised Pakistan’s pace attack and he believes that the pacers will be the key at the two venues. Pakistan possess a potent pace attack consisting of Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hasnain in the ODIs, while Karachi Kings’ pacer Arshad Iqbal is part of the T20I squad as well.

Misbah led the Pakistan side to their first ever ODI series in South Africa in 2012/13, and he is confident that the outcome will be the same this time around. The first ODI is scheduled to be played on 2 April at SuperSport Park, Centurion.
