ISLAMABAD: A court ordered the police to shift former Malir SSP Rao Anwar to jail.
Justice KK Agha heard the petition at the Sindh High Court against the anti-terrorism court’s decision to declare Anwar’s residence a sub-jail. “Send him to prison,” said the judge.
“Everyone knows why Rao Anwar gets protocol,” remarked the judge. “Has any suspect been given such protocol? The Naqeebullah murder case is high-profile and should not be taken lightly.”
The judge also expressed anger over the absence of Rao Anwar’s lawyer Abid S Zuberi. The judge ordered him to appear before the court in the next hearing on July 2.
“We will issue the verdict if he is absent in the next proceeding,” said Justice Agha. APP
