Punjab government sacks 26 top officials of public companies

LAHORE – Punjab government has removed at least 26 top officials including board directors and chairmen of seven waste management and parking companies.
The interim government has taken the step to end the political interference in elections.
At least 24 board members of WMCs have been sacked. As per the notification, the deputy commissioners of relevant district have been given the additional charge of chairman.
Notifications have also been sent to the WMCs of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot and Bahawalpur.
Those dismissed from post include Lahore Waste Management Company’s chairman who was also the city’s mayor, chairman municipal committee Shiekhupura Mian Amjad Latif, chairman municipal committee Nankaan Sahib Chaudhry Naeem Ahmed and chairman municipal committee Kasur Ayaz Ahmed Khan.
Moreover, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company chairman who is also the city’s mayor and deputy mayor have been removed from post.
