Rain plays havoc in Karachi

KARACHI: At least seven people have been killed in rain related incidents in Karachi.

According to official sources, five persons were electrocuted in different parts of the city while two children drowned in a pond.

According to Met Office, Karachi will receive more rain on Friday.

Meanwhile, flash floods have swept away several houses in Hub, Balochistan.

Eight dead bodies of missing people including women and children have been recovered so far, while rescue operation is underway.

Traffic on Quetta-Karachi road has also been suspended due to flood water.

Different cities have also received monsoon rain during last twelve hours.

Thatta received 40 millimeter, Karachi 29 and Murree and Sialkot received 23 millimeter of rain.

Rain-thundershowers with gusty winds may occur at scattered places of Hyderabad, Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Shaheed Benazirabad division, while at isolated places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

There is risk of landslides in hilly areas of upper Khyber-Pakhtukhwa, Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
