Three Indian soldiers killed in Occupied Kashmir
SRINAGAR - Militants shot dead a Indian CRPF soldier-on-leave when they stormed into his home at Naira village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late Sunday evening.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Pulwama, Mohammed Aslam Chaudhary told DNA that the CRPF constable had come home as he was under transfer from one battalion to another.
“Militants stormed the residence of the CRPF jawan and fired indiscriminately at him," he said.
Identified as Nasser Ahmad, the jawan suffered grevious wounds and was immediately rushed to the hospital. "He later succumbed to his wounds," said Chaudhary.
This is the second incident in the last 36 hours when militants have targeted security force personnel on leave in troubled South Kashmir region.
On Friday night, a group of three heavily armed militants stormed the house of SPO Mudasir Ahmad Lone at Chankatar village of Tral and abducted him on the gun point. He was released 24 hours later after his mother appealed for forgiveness in a video.
Nasser is the fifth security force man on leave to have been targetted in the last two months and third in last one week alone.
