Fazal ur Rehman comes up with a dirty game plan to stop Imran Khan from becoming PM: Sources

ISLAMABAD - *Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the president of MMA wants a government in Islamabad led by the opposition alliance. *

*He has come up with a ‘plan’ to thwart PTI chief Imran Khan’s efforts to become the prime minister.*

“If the PPP and PML-N can join hands, we can prevent Imran Khan from becoming the prime minister,” he suggested at the All Parties Conference (APC) on Monday. “If [Asif Ali] Zardari and Shehbaz [Sharif] can take a decision, I am ready to act with full force.”

Maulana Fazl said that all the parties at the conference should consider forming their own government and installing a prime minister. “If we focus on an opposition alliance’s number game, we can be successful,” said the MMA chief.

The MMA, which stands for Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, is an alliance of religious parties across Pakistan. The MMA’s vice-president, Sirajul Haq, who is also the Jamaat-e-Islami’s chief, announced on Monday that they will take up the opposition benches.

More than a dozen parties announced at an APC in Islamabad on Friday that they will protest over the election results. However, the group remained divided with some parties pledging to boycott joining the National Assembly and others calling for a new vote.
