In a surprise, Punjab cabinet goes against PM Imran Khan decision

BAHAWALPUR – Punjab cabinet in its first-ever meeting held in south Punjab approved new model vehicles for its ministers instead of giving a go-ahead to any developmental project for the underprivileged areas.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, a man who was recently praised by Prime Minister Imran Khan for being people-friendly, accepted the recommendations for brand new vehicles, apparently, rejecting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) famous slogan for ensuring austerity.

The provincial government, which had last month decided to auction 22 luxury vehicles, will be purchasing new vehicles for its ministers in coming days.

However; no agenda item related to Bahawalpur or South Punjab discussed in the cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, the meeting also decided to withdraw big cars from officers working on project posts and from now on the vehicles will be given to them keeping in view their designation.

The cabinet also decided to raise the salaries of doctors posted in remote areas of the province

While briefing to the media, Punjab Minister for Information Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that cabinet also gave the go-ahead to confirm the ad hoc assistant professors posted in the medical colleges set up in the remote areas of the province.
