Basheer Ahmed Hale¬pota, a Pakistan Peoples Party member of the Sindh Assembly has been disqualified for violating the electoral code of conduct during the local government elections in Badin early this year.

A bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner retired Jus¬tice Sardar Mohammad Raza and comprising Abdul Ghaffar Soomro (Sindh), retired Justice Altaf Ibra¬him Qureshi (Punjab) and retired Justice Shakeel Ahmad Baloch (Balochis¬tan), announced the belated decision on an application filed by Hassam Mirza, son of former speaker of the National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza.
