ANF seizes drugs worth Rs. 1.1 billion

RAWALPINDI: (APP) Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have seized around one ton drugs worth Rs. 1.1 billion in international market during country-wide 18 operations.

ANF seizes narcotics worth Rs 12.5 billion  

Some 22 acused, including a woman, involved in drugs smuggling were also arrested during the operations conducted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit, Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Nowshero Feroze, Karachi, Quetta, Qilla Abdullah and Panjgoor.

The recovered drugs included 5.56 kilogram keroin, 756 kg opium and 107 kg hashish. The ANF also impounded three vehicles during the operations.

According to an ANF press release, ANF Quetta on a tip-off intercepted an oil tanker at Panjgoor Highway, Panjgoor and recovered 720 kg opium and 80 kg hashish concealed inside its improvised cavities. However, the persons on board the container managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.

ANF Quetta, in another intelligence based operation, seized 36 kg opium and eight kg hashish at Qilla Abdullah. The ANF team raided a site near Syed Hameed Cross, Tehsil Gulstan, District Qilla Abdullah and seized an unattended motorcycle. Search of the luggage loaded on the motorcycle resulted in seizure of the drugs.

ANF recovers 5 ton drugs worth Rs. 13 billion  

ANF Quetta also recovered 5 kg hashish from two peddlers identified as Ali Haider and Muhammad Qasim, residents of Quetta while they were riding on a motorcycle near FC Hospital, Opposite Askari Park, Quetta.

ANF Rawalpindi during many operations recovered 100 gram heroin and 1590 gram hashish while ANF Lahore recovered 3.43 kg heroin. Similarly, ANF Karachi recovered 2.2 kg heroin and 13.27 kg hashish.
