Shahbaz Sharif opposes confrontation with US

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has responded over the latest tensions between Pakistan and US sparked over the US President allegations.

He said there was no need to confront with the United States rather the conflicts should be resolved through talks and both of the countries should maintain good ties with dignity.

“Pakistan should settle issues with the US in accordance with its own circumstances,” he said while addressing a ceremony held to distribute compensation cheques among heirs of the police martyred in Arfa Kareem Tower blast in Lahore.

Provincial ministers and high officials were also present on this occasion.

On this occasion, he paid tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives for Pakistan, specially the victims of Arfa Kareem Tower blast as according to intelligence agencies they were main target of the blast.

He said heirs of the martyrs would be given a house and one of their family members would be given employment in government departments.
