PIA plans to induct four new aircrafts into its fleet

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has planned to induct four new aircraft into its fleet, said President & CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik on Wednesday. Addressing to PIA employees at the airline''s head office, he said that PIA had already started on the fleet enhancement plan and would expand its network and increase its access the world over.

He said his objective was to make PIA as one of the leading airlines with collective wisdom and efforts and hoped for better results as the airline had great potential to rise.

"We will strictly go according to route rationalization policy and new viable routes will be introduced," he said and added that national flag carrier had already restarted Sialkot-Sharjah and Lahore-Muscat routes and the results were very encouraging. Furthermore, he said that PIA was going to launch flights on Sialkot-Barcelona and Lahore-Bangkok sectors. The CEO PIA said that the management was well aware of the problems being faced by the employees, especially the low salary structure of employees of lower cadre and assured to revise their salaries as soon as the airline came out of the financial constraints.

He instructed the employees to work for the betterment of the airline without compromising on service standards. He said that he would personally visit each and every department to discuss the issues with employees and vowed to maintain merit in every sphere of airline.
