Large quantity of weapons seized at Punjab-Sindh border

GHOTKI: (APP) Excise police foiled a bid to smuggle a huge consignment of weapons and hashish at Sindh-Punjab border near Obauro town of district Ghotki on Tuesday while culprits managed to escape.
Excise Inspector Younas Dhondo and Inspector Jam Ameer informed the media persons that during routine checking at Excise check post 82 pistols, 16 rifles, 21500 live rounds and 30 kilo hashish was found from a truck which was concealed in secret compartments.
According to Excise police the presence of hashish indicates that consignment was being smuggled to Karachi from Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.
The case was registered and further probe has been started, they said.
