General Raheel Sharif sets series of new precedents
ISLAMABAD (APP): Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (R) Raheel Sharif not only handed over the command of Pakistan Army after accomplishing his three years tenure in office but also left the Army House (official residence of COAS) soon after handing over the charge of his post to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday.
A series of new precedents have been set by Gen. Raheel who handing over the "Command Stick" to General Qamar Bajwa went to his office at General Headquarters from where he directly proceeded to Lahore where he had already shifted his residence after superannuation, the sources here revealed.
General Raheel, in the beginning of this year, had announced not to accept any extension in his tenure as the COAS and will step down after completing the tenure.
On Nov 29, he handed over the command to his incumbent and preceded to Lahore where he would spend his rest of the days.
