Government employees pay and pension rise in Budget 2019-20

LAHORE – Finance Department Punjab has recommended ten percent rise in salary and pension of government employees in the upcoming (2019-20) provincial budget, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Further details suggest that Finance Department Punjab has sought approval from Chief Minister Usman Buzdar over the proposal.
The finance department sources have revealed that Rs530 billion will be spent on salaries and pensions of government employees for the next fiscal year. Out of the total sum, Rs320 billion will be paid as salaries and Rs210 billion as pensions.
It has been told that only 10 percent increase in incentives is possible due to the financial situation of the province. The final approval will be given by the cabinet.
