PM Imran Khan arrives in Karachi on an important visit

*KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Karachi on Friday evening to hold important meetings and review progress of ongoing development projects for the city.*

PM Khan was welcomed by Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at the airport.

After reaching the provincial capital, Imran Khan headed to the Governor House and asked authorities not to halt traffic during his movement.

PM was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed and other top officials.

The prime minister will stay in Karachi today at the Governor House, where a dinner would be hosted by Governor Imran Ismail for the premier. Members National Assembly and provincial assembly of Sindh belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will also attend the dinner.

PM Khan will chair different meetings at the Governor House on Saturday. He will also address a public gathering in Ghotki tomorrow.

Before landing in Karachi, PM Khan had performed the groundbreaking of New Gwadar International Airport (NGIAP) during his visit to Gwadar.

In his address, Imran Khan said unlike in the past the local people would reap benefit of natural resources first in ‘Naya Pakistan’.

He also announced various other development schemes for Gwadar, which he believes would become an engine of growth for Pakistan.

The premier said the airport management had decided to plant one million saplings in the city.

He announced to launch Insaf Sehat Card to provide health insurance cover worth Rs720,000 to every family.
