NEW DELHI - Indian Union Home Minister has lashed out at Pakistan on Wednesday yet again.
Disregarding the fact of arrest of RAW agent Kulbhusan Jhadav involved in spreading terrorism in Pakistan he said that "Onus is on Pakistan to create conducive atmosphere for talks.
Though talks with Pakistan remains the domain of External Affairs Ministry, the response of MHA came in after Member of Parliament (MP) Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa posed question on "peace talks with Pakistan", India today has reported.
Replying to the question on whether the Chief Minister (CM) of Jammu Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti had recently asked the central government to hold talks with Pakistan, the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Hansraj Ahir said "No proposal to hold talks with Pakistan was received by Centre from the state government."
While the relationship has gone downhill between India and Pakistan after spate of terror attacks including the Pathankot Air Base attack and Uri Army camp attack in 2016, the Home Ministry stated that "The government has clear and consistent position that it desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan and is committed to addressing all outstanding issues bilaterally and peacefully in accordance with Shimla agreement and Lahore declaration."
Stating a further response to the unstarred question the MoS said, "Any meaningful dialouge with Pakistan can be held only in an atmosphere free of terror, hostility and violence. Onus is on Pakistan to create conducive atmosphere."
