Zalmay embarks on visit to Qatar, Pakistan & Uzbekistan to advance peace in Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD-The US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has embarked on a visit to Qatar, Islamabad, and Tashkent to support sustained peace and stability in the region and advance economic recovery of Afghanistan.
According to a press release of the US Department of State, during his visit, Zalmay Khalilzad will urge all Afghans to meet their remaining commitments ahead of intra-Afghan negotiations.
Zalmay Khalilzad is accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the US International Finance Corporation Adam Boehler. The delegation will also explore investment opportunities in various sectors to advance economic recovery of Afghanistan.
Due to the challenges of travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ambassador Khalilzad, CEO Boehler, will also hold virtual meetings with Afghan officials.
