PM Imran Khan lashes out at opposition over word 'selected PM'
ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday hit back at the opposition and said that those who use the term ‘selected’ for him were themselves manufactured in the nurseries of military dictatorship.
Addressing the last budget session, the premier said that America collaborated to have the National Reconciliation Order (NRO) signed because it was in their interests.
Quoting the autobiography written by former US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, Imran Khan said that General Pervez Musharraf was requested to drop corruption cases against certain current members of the opposition.
Talking about the economic crisis, Imran Khan said that money laundering and corruption were the reasons behind the current economic crisis.
Addressing the depreciation of the Pakistan currency, he said that the Rupee depreciated because the current government inherited the largest debt in the country’s history.
“Revelations are coming out after investigations into Zardari group, Omni Group, fake bank accounts,” the Prime Minister said, adding that after these revelations, the opposition leader had no right to comment on the currency rates.
The Prime Minister thanked Hammad Azhar, Murad Saeed, and his allies for their speeches and participation in the budget sessions.
