Supreme Court issues notice to Chief Secretary KPK

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Chief Secretary Khybar Pakhtunkhwa, Special Secretary to Chief Minister KPK and others for not allocating and issuing funds to a Member Provincial Assembly (MPA).

The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan heard the case filed by Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam MPA Malik Riaz against Chief Minister KPK for not issuing funds for his constituency.

During the course of proceedings, the counsel for Malik Riaz told the court that the provincial government issued 320 million funds to a nazim union council. He said that the Chief Minister had not authority to distribute funds according to his wish.

Justice Tariq Pervaiz asked the petitioner to raise voice in the provincial assembly if he was not receiving funds for his constituency.

He remarked that his right was not affected with the distribution of funds to a union council nazim.

He remarked that the chief minister office had the authority and powers for distribution of funds and the court would not intervene in administrative matters.

The court issued notices to the respondents on the application and adjourned hearing for one week.
