FAISALABAD: (APP) In charge Department of Medicine Allied Hospital Professor Dr. Amir Hussain on Thursday said that persons related with the profession of medicine should play their role in treatment of hepatitis in addition to creating awareness against this deadly disease.
Addressing a function in Aziz Fatima Medical and Dental College here on World Hepatitis Day, he said that environmental pollution, contaminated water and adulterated food items were the main cause of this disease.
The government was making serious efforts to control this disease, however, medical professionals as well as civil society should also play their role in educating people to save themselves from falling prey to this deadly virus, he said.
He further said that treatment of hepatitis was very costly and lengthy, and hence people should adopt safe lifestyle to protect themselves from this disease.
Professor Dr. Habib Subhan and Dr. Saira briefed the student and teachers about the latest research, development and technique in the treatment of hepatitis.
Dr. Qudoos ur Rehman Director Medical, Aziz Fatima Medical and Dental College hosted the function while Professor Dr. Rana Qaisar Mehmood Principal Aziz Fatima Medical and Dental College offered vote of thanks.
Later, certificates were also distributed among the participants while an awareness walk was also arranged within the premises of college.
