Council of Common Interest CCI postpones Census in March

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Council of Common Interest has postponed Census which was going to be held in March due to the busyness of Pak Army in Operation Zarb-e-Azab.

 

As per details, the meeting of CCI was held under the chairmanship of PM Nawaz after 11 months. CMs of all four provinces, federal ministers and other high officials were present in the meeting.

 

The agenda of census was on top priority in CCI meeting. Census has been postponed by CCI with the consensus of all provinces. The participants of the meeting said that census cannot hold as security forces are busy in ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azab.

 

It is decided in the meeting that the process of consultation will be continued and the new date of census will be announced after consultation with provincial governments.

 

Pak Army soldiers are not available so census cannot be conducted in March. The next meeting of CCI will be held on 25th March. The CCI meeting also approved security and exchange policy and import of LPG, LNG.
