Top US envoys held high level talks in Pakistan Foreign Office
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Additional Secretary Aftab Khokar held delegation-level talks with US envoys on Monday.
US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, South and Central Asia Alice Wells and US Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in Islamabad to hold regular consultations with Pakistani officials along with talks on the Afghan peace process.
Last week, Zalmay Khalilzad praised Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement on Afghanistan.
“Greatly appreciate @ImranKhanPTI’s statement yesterday on #Afghanistan. His appeal for reduction of violence and policy against promoting internal conflict in other nations has potential to positively transform the region and give #Pakistan a leading role,” Khalilzad tweeted on Friday.
