Good news for Pakistani students seeking US visa

The United States embassy in Islamabad has announced the resumption of student visa services for Pakistan, starting next month.

A press release issued on Monday said that the US diplomatic missions in Islamabad and Karachi will resume services from October 1. The development has come 6 months after the suspension of visa-related activities due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

We are proud of the long tradition of student exchange between Pakistan and the United States. Nearly 8,000 Pakistani students study at universities and colleges across the US and we look forward to welcome many more.

The presser said that student visas are a top priority for the US Mission in Pakistan, which will ensure timely assistance for applicants.

Over the past few months, the embassy said it took various measures to ensure the health and safety of its employees during the Covid-19 pandemic. It requested the visa applicants to wear face masks and implement social distancing at the embassy.
