Shujaat urges opposition to take consensus decisions

ISLAMABAD,(APP):President Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Chaudhary Shujaat Hussein Wednesday urged opposition parties to take consensus decisions.

Talking to media, he urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership to convey concrete reasons for changing the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly. However, PTI must take opposition parties into confidence before taking any decision in this regard.

He said senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Pakistan Peoples Party has sought PML's support for electing their respective Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.

He said Chief of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had contested the election for slot of Prime Minister in August last. PML favoured him but Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had contested the elections of Prime Minister sans evolving any consensus of opposition parties.
