CJP takes suo moto notice of acquiring of land of cremation by Sindh Govt.

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Wednesday took notice of acquisition of land of a Cremation ground in Karachi by the Government of Sindh.
The notice was taken on an application of Shri Ram Nath Maharaj belonging to Hindu Community stating therein that Government of Sindh had acquired Cremation land of Hindu community for construction of Lyari Express in the year 2008.
In lieu of that neither an alternative land had yet been allotted nor any compensation was given, and the Hindu community was facing difficulties due to non-availability of Cremation ground, the petitioner stated.
Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice directed Chief Secretary, Government of Sindh for an early action and to submit a detailed report within two weeks.
